Leaders in Berrien County are taking action to prevent tax increases.
The County Commission will be lowing the millage rate for residents county wide to off set changes in property prices. Residential properties were assessed for the first time in 12 years this year. Values are expected to jump more than 30%.
It has still not been determined how much they will have to roll back the millage rate. But the current rate stands at 18 mills.
