TALLAHASSEE, Fla. 9-6-13

Big rigs and big wheels were on display in downtown Tallahassee.

Students from across the Big Bend got an up close look at them Friday morning. Everything from firetrucks to tactical units were on display.

The event was put on by the Florida League of Cities and the Florida Association of Counties. Kids from Leon and Madison county schools were given live demonstrations all morning long.

"I just think that when you have stuff to touch, you have stuff to hear, you're enacting your senses and you can really understand the value
of local services and where tax dollars go," said organizer Jenna Titcomb.

More than 65 students attended the events held at Kleman Plaza.
