Associated Press Release
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities believe the partially decomposing body found over the weekend in central Florida belongs to a missing 21-year-old who disappeared after his grandfather's death.
Osceola County Sheriff's detectives were called to the scene Friday after the caretaker of a property in Kissimmee noticed a foul smell coming from a wooded area while he was mowing the lawn.
On Monday, authorities tentatively identified the victim as Javier Enrique Rodriguez Garcia. He went missing on July 25 after officials said he had been drinking and taking drugs because he was distraught over his grandfather's death.
The medical examiner has not determined the cause of death, but it does not appear to be suspicious.
