[UPDATE] September 19, 2012

The boil notice is still in effect.

There is a Precautionary Boil Water Notice in effect for Talquin Electric Cooperative water members in the services in areas south & east of Lake Tallavana, including Reston, Lake Tallavana, Shady Rest Rd, Scotland Rd, Richbay Rd, US 27 N, and adjacent roads, north of Ochlocknee River in Gadsden County. This is due to a water main break and loss of water pressure. Only members of Talquin Electric Cooperative in this area are affected.

Instructions:

DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using it for drinking or cooking.

What is being done?:

Talquin servicemen are flushing water lines and opening hydrants to draw fresh water into the system. We will keep you informed of the steps we are taking to protect your drinking water and will provide information on any steps you should be taking until this problem is corrected.
