Tallahassee, FL - The Boys and Girls Club of the Big Bend will keep it's doors open thanks to a partnership between the Club, the United Way, and Leon County Schools.

Tonight the three groups held an informational meeting for parents explaining how the partnership will work. Leon County Schools students will attend the after school program at one of the county's schools, but students of charter schools won't be able to participate in the Boys and Girls Club after school program.

"The community knows we've had our financial issues, but we are really strong now and have a great board and the collaboration. It just really makes for a long-term solution not only for the boys and girls club, but a long-term solution for the kids", says Theresa Flury, President and CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Bend.

The change will go in to effect March 1.Flury says she hopes the charter schools will also get on board so they can continue providing service to students of the charter schools.
