Tallahassee, Florida -July 8, 2012-
They're hoping to become Florida's next political leaders.
About 530 rising high school seniors are taking part of the 69th Session of the Florida American Legion's Boys State.
They came from across Florida to participate in the program. It teaches them about Florida's government, laws and history.
The boys will work together to create a '51st state' complete with city and county governments.
Florida State has hosted the program since 1940. It is sponsored by the Florida Department of the American Legion.
