Florida State University, Florida A&M University and Tallahassee Community college are back in session. With the more thousands of students re-entering Tallahassee for school the classrooms aren’t the only things bustling again.
According to citydata.com more than 50 thousand students live in Tallahassee during the year, that means that when the summer months come along businesses hit major dry spells
One business in Madison social says that 90% of their employees are college students.
Drew Mcleod is the director of field operation and regional development at Brooklyn’s Bagels and he says with the students back business is starting to look up.
"You know we go through a long summer period, where the student population is reduced to probably a quarter of what it normally is, so having the students back I think gives every business in this area, particularly college town a tremendous boost."
Mcleod says they’ve already hired five students and will fire between three and four more to get back to a full staff,
