Tallahassee, FL - Crews are working steadily to finish Cascades Park, like finishing the parking lot where the performers will park for concerts.
"I think everybody city, county, blueprint is excited to get the park open. It's going to be an incredible asset to the community," said Lee Daniel, Director of Leon County Division of Tourism Development.
The Leon County Commissioner's Strategic Team for Amphitheater Grand Entertainment, otherwise known as STAGE met this afternoon. They're figuring out the logistics of the park. That includes everything from rules and regulations, stars dressing rooms and what kind of chairs patrons can use. "The primary one is the festival seating area and how to we want to handle that. Do we want to allow people to bring in chairs or do we want to think blankets," said Daniel.
We asked Daniel if he could tell us who the first artist will be to perform at Cascades Park. " Probably not no, but again I think we just got our first contract in today. We're expecting the second one in later today and we don't want to do anything that would detract from the grand opening of the park first," said Daniel.
While we don't know who the first artist will be, Daniel did tell us their planning on having many different music genres perform. "Whether that's country rhythm and blues, rock we hope to have a great diversity of entertainment for the entire community to enjoy," said Daniel.
Cascades Park is set to open March 14TH with a dedication ceremony. Shortly after the first few venue dates will be announced. Daniel told us to be on the lookout for a concert date to be the same weekend as the FSU spring football game.
