Tallahassee, FL -- May 29. 2012 --
There was emotion, tears and heartfelt moments.
But, Tuesday mornings event was a time to have a celebration of champions. To remember the lives of two young people - Tyler Biggins and Vincent Vickers - who died in a car crash back in March.
"They were good friends to me," said their classmate, Deshawn Rucker
Loucrecia Collins is Tyler's aunt. She lives in Birminham, Alabama but came down to help remember her nephew's life.
"It just means so much to be here and be a part of this celebration because he loved his school so much, he was always talking about Ruediger," she said.
She hopes this celebration reminds people how precious life is.
"You never know when your last day is going to be, so take care of every moment."
The two boys, who were best friends, lost their lives in a four-vehicle accident. Police say 21-year-old Christopher Generoso crashed into their vehicle.
Shakeila Vickers, Vincent Vicker's mother, also died in the St. Patrick's Day crash.
Shakeila's sisters attended the event.
So did her husband, Vince, who was the only survivor from their vehicle.
He fought back tears, as he watched the students and staff remember his loved ones.
