Chick-fil-A Bowl to Visit Tallahassee for Virginia / FSU Game

ATLANTA (November 16, 2011) –

Chick-fil-A Bowl representative Albert Tarica will visit Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Fla. on Saturday for the Virginia– Florida State game. The two teams are being scouted as potential ACC representatives in the 2011 Chick-fil-A Bowl on Dec. 31.

Tarica will be available for interviews before the game and in the press box during the game.

The ACC and SEC team selections for the 44th annual Chick-fil-A Bowl will be announced on Sunday, Dec. 4. The Chick-fil-A Bowl is the oldest guaranteed ACC vs. SEC match-up in the bowl business and currently hosts the first selection in the ACC after the BCS.

Virginia in the Chick-fil-A Bowl

Virginia (7-3, 4-2) has made three appearances in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, most recently in 1998 when the Cavaliers dropped a 35-33 decision to Georgia. Virginia registered wins in 1995 (34-27 over Georgia) and 1984 (27-24 over Purdue).

Florida State in the Chick-fil-A Bowl

Florida State (7-3, 5-2) has made three appearances in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, with the most recent coming just last year. The Seminoles defeated South Carolina 26-17. Florida State has an all-time record of 2-1 in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.
