Chiles High School's math club is among the top in the nation.
The team of 18 just returned from a national competition in Boston.
After several rounds of tough competition, they brought home a third place trophy. Several of the team members won individual prizes as well.
Last year the team came in fifth.This finish is the best in school history.
"It's nerve wrecking, it's crazy," said team member Jason Kenyon. "You get to the test and you wonder if you're going to remember the formula or this type of problem."
Team member, Nicholas Yang said, "We were never expecting this. If you asked anybody they were probably thinking fifth at the best but third."
Coach Steve Friedlander, said he's very proud of his team and their historic performance this year.
Rickards High School came in fifth at the competition. Several teams from Florida made up the top 10.
