Thomasville, GA - Another crucial piece of the the Clean Water upgrades is nearing completion within the city.
The city is in the process of replacing pump station number four. It's one of the larger pump stations and a is a critical part of the city's wastewater program. The pump has been in use for decades. City Officials told us it was time for a new system.
"The pumps break down over time to where you can't repair them economically or feasibly and it makes more sense to replace the station as a whole instead of trying to repair year after year," said Jerry Pionessa, City of Thomasville Engineer.
The pump replacement is part of the $24.9 million upgrade to the city's drinking water and wastewater programs.
