We've enjoyed a heat wave of sorts in January, but winter is far from over.

Today, 50 children at Tallahassee's Riley Elementary School went home with brand new coats,

The Prince Hall Shriners with Ahmed Temple 37 donated the winter coats and handed over a check for 750 dollars to help wherever it's needed.

"The cost of education is expensive and we know they don't always get everything that they need, so this 750 dollars will go towards what he deems important to achieve the kind of outcomes they want to achieve here at Riley, " said Illustrious Potentate Otis Kirksey.

The Shriners are one of the school's community partners.
