After last week's Primary Election Runoff, Lowndes County has a new Commissioner representing District 5.

Clay Griner took his oath this morning at the court house. He will fill the open seat of John Page, who will be replacing Tim Golden as State Senator for District 8. Griner says he hopes to help the county continue to grow.

Griner said, "I'm going to be very conservative. I'm going to try to make decisions based off of 'what's best for the residents?' And 'what's the best way to spend tax money?'

Griner also says he believes he will benefit the commission with his experience as a business owner. Griner Auto Group owns three car dealerships in the Lowndes County area.
