Tallahassee, FL - Construction continues in Tallahassee. The new project will create traffic back up on the intersection of Gaines Street and Woodward Avenue.
The two month construction is set to start Monday. The reason is for sidewalk repairs and utilities on the South side of Gaines Street.
The prior construction has interrupted the flow of traffic coming into businesses.
"It's just from day to day you don't know really know if people are going to go somewhere else that day when you are in the middle of the construction," said Jeremy Matlow, business owner.
It's even irritating drivers.
"It makes it difficult to come this way, especially when it was a one way," Jeffrey Stevenson, a Tallahassee Resident. "I am glad they at least finished this side, but it just makes it hectic to drive on."
Jeremy Matlow from Gaines Street Pies says their main customers are students from FSU, since their restaurant is a block away from campus.
"We are ready to get through it," said Matlow. "We think with all the housing and development going in its going to be good for us in the long run."
This two month project is preparing for a roundabout on Gaines and Woodward. The construction will end in the spring of 2014.
