Tallahassee, FL - Former FSU and NFL star Corey Simon is hosting his 4th "Corey's Kids Camp for Champions."

The camp kicked off Friday afternoon with games and kickball at "Palmer Munroe Teen Center" in Tallahassee.

Simon partners with the Florida Department of Children and Families and Big Bend Community Based Care to help 45 kids in foster care.

The former defensive tackle spends the weekend teaching the teens life skills, and gives them the summer camp experience.

Sixteen-year-old Crystal says, "It feels really good, in my opinion. It makes me know that or lets me know that there's somebody out there that actually cares."

Fourteen-year-old Roshaun says, "When you're in the system, you really don't think there's nobody for you when you first get there. Then you realize you have so many people to back you up."

Corey Simon says, "Why not go to the least of them to ensure that they get an opportunity to experience things that other kids get to experience. So, that was the inspiration."

Friday night, campers will be treated to dinner and an IMAX movie. Saturday, they'll spend the day at the Beau Turner Youth Conservation Center.
