Tallahassee, FL- The countdown to the 15th annual Red Hills Horse Trials is officially underway.
Organizers say this year, as part of the Viva Florida 500 celebration, spectators can expect to see quite a few new exhibits.
"There's a parade of breeds on Sunday, which we've never had before, that kind of gives some insight to the horse and how it was involved in the settlement of Florida," said Marvin Mayer, the co-organizer for the Red Hills Horse Trials.
Organizers say there's also a new jump added to the final course that is sure to wow.
"I don't want to give it away, but I'll just say, it's the owl jump and you must come out and see it," said Mayer. "There's only one other jump in the country that's built along these lines and they finished ours yesterday and it's awesome!"
You don't have to be an equestrian enthusiast to have a good time. Organizers say they'll have pony rides and educational exhibits for the kids.
"It's an oceanic research trailer that's going to be here," said Mayer. "It's great for the kids, very interactive for them. Some species, samples too, for them to take a look at; so it's going to be fun."
One thing that hasn't changed this year- organizers say spectators are guaranteed to see some of the world's finest equestrians!
