Couples Marry On 12-12-12

For newlyweds Jim and Penny Taylor, Wednesday not only marks their marriage but a significant date on the calender: 12-12-12.

"I have been looking forward to performing this ceremony for these two people for two years," said Unity Eastside church minister Jean DeBarbieris Owen.

Jim and Penny took their vows Wednesday as did thousands of other couples on this unique day. In fact David's Bridal estimates 7,500 couples did the same thing today.

"We decided twelve, twelve, twelve at twelve o'clock would be it," said Penny. "Everything was as smooth as butter."

Although the couple was engaged for a year, they decided on the date just a month ago and planned the wedding in just 30 days.

"It just worked out perfectly for all of us so we went for it," said Jim.

If you're looking to get married on a special date like 12-12-12 you'll have to wait another 89 years for January 1, 2101.

As for Penny and Jim, they couldn't be happier about their day and they look forward to the years to come.
