On Aug. 29, Eric Lee Allred of Crawfordville was arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana after the WCSO Narcotics Unit discovered 37 marijuana plants at Allred’s Crawfordville home, according to Sheriff Donnie Crum.
Investigators received information that plants were growing at the home and they were given consent to search the home by the homeowner. Plants were discovered in a shed tied upside down to a fishing line. A bag of potting soil was also observed nearby.
More plants were discovered in the back yard growing in pots. The suspect's potted marijuana plants that were in the yard ranged in height from one foot to five feet tall. The plants were uprooted and placed into the Evidence Division at the sheriff’s office. The value of the plants is $37,000.
