Press Release: Tallahassee Police Department
The Tallahassee Police Department responded to a call for assistance in the 1400 Block of Alabama Street at approximately 4:00 pm on October 1st, 2013.
Upon arrival, TPD Patrol Officers located a male who was bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound. TFD and EMS also arrived on scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. At approximately the same time, the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital called TPD to report another male victim, suffering from gunshot wounds, had self-transported himself to the hospital.
TPD’s Criminal Investigation Division, along with Forensic Technicians responded to the scene and assumed the primary role in the homicide investigation.
After consulting with the State Attorney’s Office, investigators arrested LaPadre Sharpe for Attempted First Degree Murder. Please see the attached probable cause report for further details.
Homicide Investigators are working diligently to interview all involved and process the evidence located on scene. TPD’s Criminal Investigation Division is pursuing all leads and asks community members with information about this case to call TPD at 891-4200 or the Big Bend Crime Stoppers at 574-TIPS. Tallahassee, FL - A violent day in Tallahassee started at around 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon on Alabama Street.
Multiple shots filled the air across from the Time Saver convenience store. Witnesses said two men were shooting at each other.
"Tallahassee P.D. officers arrived on scene and located a male who was in fact suffering from gunshot wounds. He was treated on scene on E.M.S. and was transported to a local hospital," said T.P.D. Officer David Northway.
Police received a separate call from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital about another patient with gunshot wounds. T.P.D. did not say if the patient was shot on Alabama Street.
"It's just sad and pitiful. There's people around here trying to live so decent and things just going on like this. It really upsets me because it could have been my kids walking up and down this street," said neighbor Felicia Willis.
Police had to respond to another shooting on Texas Street about twenty minutes later. They could not link the two incidents as of Tuesday night.

Police have been on scene since shortly after 4pm this afternoon.
It is being investigated as a crime scene.
