Cross Country Teams Hit The Ground Running In Tallahassee

Tallahassee FL- This weekend thousands will hit the ground running a 5k race at a Tallahassee park.

The Florida High School Athletic Association championships will be held this Saturday at the Leon County Apalachee Regional Park.

235 different cross country teams of runners will be racing bright and early at seven thirty in the morning.

With the anticipation of a high turn out, Visit Tallahassee says this could mean good things for the local community.

Visit Tallahassee's Gary Stogner said, "In addition to the runners we will have about 5,000 spectators here tomorrow and the total economic impact with direct spending as a result of this event-- well, it's about 900,000 dollars to the community."
