Tallahassee, Fl --May 26, 2012--
Members of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity rode more than 800 miles to raise awareness about people with disabilities.
The group of 26 cyclists made the two week trek from Miami to Tallahassee in order to raise awareness as part of "Push America's Gear Up Florida". During the trek, the men would stop at local centers working with disabled people as a way to help spread their message.
"To see the happiness on their face when we arrive at all these events, to see them light up, the joy, the pure joy to see them when somebody actually respects them as a person is great. It's just a great feeling," says Jack Wilson, one of the riders.
The men rode about 75 miles a day and helped raise more than $98,000 dollars through their efforts.
