Tallahassee, FL - Dads and daughters danced the night away Saturday.

The Rotary Club of Tallahassee Northside estimates about one thousand people attended its 8th annual Daddy-Daughter Dance.

The Rotary Club does the dance each year to help raise money for its charities.

WCTV Anchor Julie Montanaro was this year's emcee.

"If you're a dad and you're at home and you haven't taken your daughter to a 'Daddy-Daughter Dance' it's an experience you have to come out and do. Put the Macho aside for a second. Your daughter will remember it forever," said Rickie Williams, who's been going to the dance with his daughter Imani the past four years.

The Rotary Club says it hopes to raise about $20,000 through the dance for its charities this year.
