DELTONA, Fla. (AP) -- A 20-month-old boy is dead after being pulled from a backyard swimming pool in Deltona.
Volusia County Sheriff's deputies say adults at the scene performed CPR on the boy after he was taken from the pool on Monday night. The child did not respond and wasn't breathing when he was taken to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City.
Few details about the drowning were immediately available.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports the boy was the fourth backyard pool fatality in Volusia County this year. In August, a 2-year-old and 3-year-old drowned in separate incidents in Edgewater and Ormond Beach. And a 4-year-old from Deltona drowned in January
