Tallahassee,FL - The Capital Region YMCA sponsored a 3k zombie race and a 5k competitive race which kicked off at 8:00 a.m. Here's how the 3k zombie race worked. The runners had to complete the trail without having their flags taken by a zombie. If they did, they too, would turn into a zombie. The proceeds raised from today's race will go toward helping folks through programs that they offer. "It goes toward helping our scholarship program. Where we don't turn anyone away that comes to our door. If someone wants swimming lessons or needs access to our programs we provide assistance for them," said Travis McGilvary, YMCA Membership Director.

198 runner came out and Capital Region YMCA raised $3,100. Panera Bread and Earth Fare were sponsors of the race and donated bagels and water.
