Tallahassee, FL - "Drive it Home, Keep our Paradise Litter-Free."
The Florida Department of Transportation unveiled the state's official campaign billboard with that slogan Friday. The roadside litter prevention education campaign was revealed at in the Capitol courtyard.
It aims to reduce littering on Florida highways, promote pride in the beauty of Florida's landscapes, and educate drivers about the dangers and hazards of roadside litter.
Dr. Ananth Prasad, the Secretary of the Florida Department of Transportation, says, "It has a lot of environmental benefits, in the sense that the litter doesn't run off into drains and clog our drains, and eventually into our natural water bodies. So, it has a lot of benefits."
The campaign enlists professional and amateur athletes from a variety of sports, some of whom were there for the unveiling.
