Police: Drunk Driver Causes 15 Car Crashes

SNELLVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- Bond has been denied for a 70-year-old man police say was driving drunk and caused 15 crashes that left one person dead and another critically injured.
Michael O. Snider is being held in the Gwinnett County Detention Center on charges of vehicular homicide, DUI, reckless driving, following too closely and serious injury by vehicle.
Police say Snider, of Stone Mountain, is accused of carving a trail of wreckage with his pickup across two counties in northern Atlanta's suburbs Wednesday night. Authorities say he was apprehended after the pickup slammed into a restaurant near Snellville.
Gwinnett County Court officials say a preliminary hearing has been set for Feb. 1. A court clerk says Snider has retained an attorney, but officials are unsure of who will be representing the man.
