Thomasville, GA - Folks from Dunkin' Donuts in Thomasville presented the Thomasville High School Band Booster Club with a check for $1,250.
The money was raised last month during Dunkin' Donuts' Halloween fundraiser, which set aside 10 percent of all sales to go to the band.
The generous donation comes three months after the former treasurer of the band's booster club was arrested for stealing more than $40,000 from the band.
"It's been a little bit overwhelming," said Joseph Regina, the THS Band Director. "I knew this was a tight-knit community here in Thomasville and they would get behind a good cause, but to see them actually come out and do it in droves and be so generous with their time and their money; it's really been quite an awesome experience."
The money will help pay for the band's trip to Washington, D.C. to perform in the National Cherry Festival Parade.
