Early Morning Tallahassee House Fire Displaces Eight [SLIDE SHOW]

This morning at 4:29 a.m., units from the Tallahassee Fire Department Stations 3, 1 and 4 responded to the report of a house fire in the 2500 Block of Golf Terrace Drive. On scene firefighters found heavy fire in the front of the single story wood-frame house. The fire was called in by a neighbor who was awakened by dogs barking and noticed the fire.

The six occupants evacuated the house safely and the fire was extinguished within ten minutes. No injuries were reported at the scene and damages were estimated at $60,000.

Two vehicles in the driveway were also damaged as a result of the fire. The Red Cross was called out to assist the eight occupants and TFD was also assisted on scene by Leon County EMS, TPD and City of Tallahassee Utilities. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Tallahassee Fire Department, Florida State Fire Marshal’s office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The Tallahassee Fire Department reports that a fire was called in at 4:29 am this morning.

A home and two cars were destroyed in the fire, located at 2502 Golf Terrace Drive in Tallahassee.

There were 8 occupants in the home at the time- 4 adults and 4 children. All were evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported. A neighbor called in the fire.

Damages are estimated at 60,000 dollars, equaling a total loss.

The home was a single story, wood frame house. Two cars in the driveway were also burned as a result of their proximity to the fire.
It is unknown at this time, whether the fire started in the house or on the porch.

TPD, Leon County EMS, City utilities and Red Cross assisted. Red Cross is still assisting family.
