The Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend has a brand new facility that's a lot more child-friendly.

The new building officially opened its doors Wednesday for the community to tour the facility and learn about its services. It features a giant playhouse, a library, and a brightly-covered family room.

The facility is located in the Northwood Centre Plaza on North Monroe Street.

Lauren Faison, CEO of the Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend says, "We have created an environment that celebrates families and inspires them to really emphasize their role as a parent of a young child and how important and critical that is."

The ELC is a private non profit organization that supports parents' ability to work and helps prepare children for success in school. The ELC pumps over 1 million dollars a month into the local economy and puts some 5,000 people to work.
