Tallahassee, FL - When you step into FAMU High's gym, the same girls you see on the basketball court are the same girls you see in the picture adorning the wall; an image of the 2012 state champs.

LaKaris Salter was a sophomore back then. She hit the game-winning shot that year to bring the first of two straight title back to Tallahassee.

But the playoffs are approaching for her senior season and she has every intention of winning a third ring.

"I think about it pretty much everyday. It's motivation for me," said Salter, who signed with Mississippi State this past November.

"We try to keep them focused on, 'stay in the moment,'" Head Coach Ahmad Aliyy said.

But all nine girls have thought about that moment since the beginning of the season.

"They understand the process," Aliyy said. "We've been there before. So all we have to do is kind of tweak it."

Six players, including five starters, were at the state title game for the game-winner in 2012. And those same players were there for the blowout last season.

"We know that it's not promised," Salter said. "We know that anybody can get knocked off their crown any day, anytime."

Salter has more than 2,000 career points, but she knows that will not help in the playoffs. To dribble to number three, they'll need to shoot for three keys.

"Play hard, play together, finish strong," she said.
