The increase will be offset by a $1.75 waiver. Therefore, students will not see an increase in fees for the 2013-2014 fiscal year.

Tallahassee, FL - During a conference call Monday afternoon, trustees approved the Florida legislature's mandate of a 1.7 percent tuition increase.
Administrators say that increase will be a $1.75 more per credit hour, and will result in $450,000 in additional revenue for the university.
Administrators say the money will be used to carry out key initiatives.
Trustees also voted to try to find way to offset the cost of the increase so that it will not pass down to students, which students appreciate.
FAMU student Tiffany Ayoung says, "As students, first of all not everyone here was born in Tallahassee. So we also have rent to pay. We also have other financial obligations that we need to put forth."
