On May 10, 2014 at 2023, Franklin County Sheriff's Deputy Jamie Shiver was dispatched to 23 Washington Street in Eastpoint due to a reported medical problem.

Upon arrival, Deputy Shiver observed EMS personnel performing CPR on Mr. Norman Williams who was pronounced dead a short time later.

Further investigation revealed that Mr. Williams had been involved in an argument with Mr. David Holstein over Williams having inappropriately touched a woman at the home.

During that argument, Mr. Bobby Bullock struck Mr. Williams from behind with an ax handle just below his left ear, rendering him unconscious.

Approximately 30 minutes later, others at the home determined Mr. Williams had no pulse and called 911.

Due to the nature of the injury, the initial autopsy was unable to determine to the cause of death.

It is anticipated that further testing in the coming weeks by the Medical Examiner's Office will successfully determine this cause.

Based on the investigation and autopsy, Bobby Joe Bullock was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon causing great bodily harm.

The charge of 2nd degree murder is pending based on the Medical Examiner's findings.
