Tallahassee, FL - More than 1,000 people packed the civic center in their garnet and gold for the 62nd annual football kickoff luncheon.
It was all put together by the FSU Alumni Association.
The Marching Chiefs were also there. They looked like they were in mid-season form getting the crowd pumped up with the war chant.
Head coach Jimbo Fisher talked about expectations coming into the season in the state of the Seminoles address.
But for many, this was the first time many in attendance heard from new athletic director Stan Wilcox. He was the deputy athletics director at Duke but says he can't wait to see Chief Osceola take the field with Renegade for the first home game of the season.
"[Osceola will] plant that spear in the middle of the field to let everybody know this is our house," Wilcox told the crowd. "This is nobody else's house but our house."
The first game of the season is Monday, Sept. 2 against Pittsburgh. The first home game will be September 14 against Nevada.
