This weekend Florida State Universities Army ROTC program competed in the Army ROTC Ranger Challenge Competition at Camp Blanding Florida. The grueling 2 day event covered 18 miles and had 8 events interspersed throughout the competition consisting of: Rifle Marksmanship, Hand Grenade Assault Course, Land Navigation, A foot march, a patrol boat race, an obstacle course, a river crossing, and a commander's challenge (which was a secret surprise event).

As a result of the win, FSU will represent the Brigade and all 39 schools in the south-east region at the upcoming Sandhurst competition at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY in April 2014. Sandhurst is an international event pitting 58 teams in a variety of Soldier tasks aimed at testing participants physically and mentally. Each of Cadet Command's eight brigade Ranger Challenge winners are among those in the field, as well as squads from the United States Military Academy, Air Force Academy, Korea, Canada, Brazil, Great Britain, and Australia.
