FSU Black Student Union Hosts Film Festival For MLK Week

Students gathered on the campus of Florida State University to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and they did it with a film festival.

It was hosted by FSU's Black Student Union. The festival featured films produced by independent filmmakers and students at both FSU and FAMU.

The short films that were shown contained messages to help dispel the negative stereotypes of black culture.

"Besides this just being a BSU event it's also a combination of events that we do to celebrate the legacy of Doctor King - it being MLK week, so this is a great way to kind of take things from a serious note and just have fun and celebrate the arts," said Harold Scott, President, FSU Black Student Union.

The Black Student Union decided to host the film festival again this year after a successful turnout last year.
