Tallahassee, FL-Not everyone could make it out to Hollywood for the Oscars. But dozens gathered at Hotel Duval Sunday night for Florida State University's College of Motion Picture Arts' annual Oscar Watch Party.

Students, faculty and donors to the college attended the watch party.

They watched and cheered on as several films with ties to our area that were up for Academy Awards.

"It's an indication of just what a remarkable film school Florida State University has and how fortunate we in Tallahassee are to have that program here," said Frank Patterson, dean of FSU's College of Motion Picture Arts.

Some of those with local ties at the Oscars include Jonathan King, an executive producer on 'Lincoln', Ali Bell an executive producer for 'Hitchcock and Lucy Alibar, screen writer for 'Beast of the Southern Wild.'
