Tallahassee FL- Local Law Enforcement is reaching out to the public to identify a man accused of robbing four Florida State University Students at gun point.
Steps away from Florida State University during the early morning hours this Sunday four women were robbed. Lieutenant Hank Jacob from FSU Police Department explained, "FSU Police department officers heard a dispatch for an armed robbery in the 300 block of college avenue. We happened to have some officers in the 500 block and they responded."
According to officials the incident occured right on the side walk of College Avenue. The women reported they were walking home when they were approached by a man who pulled out a gun and demanded they hand over all their valuables.
FSU Student Cody Stanaland told us he was alarmed to hear about the robbery saying, "I just feel like I need to be more vigilant. I just need to keep my eyes peeled more just in case because something like that could easily happen again. I mean there isn't a great description of the guy."
Victims described the man as being a heavy set black male, approximately 5'9". He is in his mid 20's with a possible goatee style mustache. The suspected robber was last seen running away from campus wearing a black jacket, grey shirt and long light colored blue jeans.
"There wasn't a whole lot to go on with regards to the suspect that would warrant any immediate action so now it's going to be assigned to an investigator in the morning and they will start doing some follow up to see if they can develop any leads," said Jacob.
FSU Student Evan Taylor told us, "I mean it's kind of scary. You think of campus as being a safe place and it's kind of a nice area so it's just kind of makes you want to pay attention to what's going on."
Any one with information about this armed robber is encouraged to contact FSU Police Department immediately at (850)-644-1234. We have been told information may make you eligible for a reward up to one thousand dollars.
