Thomasville, GA- Thomas University hosted a group of special visitors, all the way from China.
A group of 13 faculty members from the Guangzhou College of South China University of Technology toured the campus Monday afternoon.
The group arrived in Thomasville Sunday night and will spend the next two weeks at Thomas University learning about TU's business classes as well as new teaching methods.
School officials are working together to develop a new dual degree program in which students at Guangzhou College take a combination of classes from both universities.
"They are delivering the first portion of the program and then we deliver the last 30 credits for the students to earn a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Thomas University, as well as their degree from Guangzhou College," said Doctor Ann Landis, the Executive Vice President of Thomas University.
Liguang Wu, a professor and Dean of International Business at Guangzhou College added, "Although the university sizes are different, our mission is the same. We want to provide quality education."
The faculty from China will also be making stops at local businesses and attractions in Thomasville and Tallahassee, including Flowers Bakery and Wakulla Springs.
So far, about 120 students are enrolled in the dual degree program which will begin in Fall 2014.
