At 3:00 pm on Wednesday March 27, 2013, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a traffic crash near the intersection of West Tennessee Street and Bethel Church Road. When Deputies arrived they discovered one of the drivers involved in the crash had died.

The preliminary investigation revealed that David Brumfield, 43, was driving a silver 2005 Ford Ranger truck traveling eastbound on West Tennessee Street. As the Ranger approached the intersection of
Bethel Church Road, it crossed through the grass median, entered in
to the westbound lanes of West Tennessee Street and into oncoming traffic.

Kenneth Baker, 38, was traveling westbound on West Tennessee Street in a white 2006 GMC Sierra truck pulling a trailer loaded with construction materials. Baker was able to steer the GMC Sierra out of the way of the approaching Ford Ranger; however, the Ford Ranger did strike the trailer Baker was towing.

Preliminary results from an autopsy performed today indicated that Br
umfield died as a result of multiple injuries consistent with the traffic
