Saturday evening, Florida Highway Patrol responded to an fatal accident at US-90 & COMMERCE BLVD in Gadsden County.
A semi tractor-trailer driven by Gaines Ihire Liner, 53, of Olvido, FL was traveling westbound on United States Highway 90 at the intersection of Commerce Boulevard.
According to FHP, a 2005 Ford F-150, driven by 65-year-old Johnny Melvin Mayo and passenger 24-year-old Samantha Desiree Hamblen, both of Tallahassee, was traveling eastbound on US-90 approaching the intersection of Commerce Boulevard.
Liner's semi turned left in front of Mayo's vehicle, causing the front of Mayo's vehicle to collide with the right rear of Liner's semi. This crash resulted in the fatality of Hamblen.
According to FHP, Both Mayo and Hamblen were both wearing seat belts and were not under the influence of alcohol.
FHP is still investigating if Liner was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
