Name Released: Fatal Traffic Crash Near Capital Circle NE and Care Drive

The Tallahassee Police Department release the initial traffic crash report from yesterday’s fatal crash at the intersection of Capital Circle Northeast and Care Drive.

The report indicates that Don Davis from Crawfordville, Florida, was killed in the accident. You can view the full report by clicking on the PDF file above.


Tallahassee, Florida - July 23, 2012 - Noon -

A man crashed his truck into a tree in and died in the early morning hours of July 23rd. Lanes were blocked for hours while Tallahassee police investigated the scene.

The crash took place at the intersection of Capital Circle Northeast and Care Drive. Police say the driver of the truck seemed to have been speeding just before the crash.

Tallahassee Police arrived on scene just before 4:30 this morning and found a white pick up truck in this retention pond.
They haven't released the driver's name yet --- but they believe he was speeding and hit a tree. From there the truck went into the water.
Northbound traffic was blocked off for a while after that crash but by nine this morning all of the lanes were open.

TPD won't release the name of that driver until his family is notified.

Tallahassee, Florida - July 23, 2012 - 7am

This morning at approximately 4:20am TPD responded to a traffic crash near the intersection of North East Capital Circle and Care Drive.

Upon arrival, officers located a white Ford pick up truck, which came to rest just inside of the retention pond, located on the eastside of the roadway. It appears the vehicle was driving at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway and struck a tree before it came to a rest in the pond. Sadly, the driver of the vehicle, a white male, died in the crash. The name is being withheld pending notification of a next of kin.

As of 9am, all lanes of CCNE from Miccosukee is being opened at this time.
