CRESTVIEW, Florida-- October 6, 2012

Authorities say a fired Panhandle police officer faces charges related to stealing marijuana from his station's evidence locker.

Records show 26-year-old Tim White was arrested Thursday and released on bond the same day.

State Attorney Bill Eddins told The Northwest Florida Daily News that White faces up to five years in prison if convicted of charges including perjury and evidence tampering.

Before he was fired, White said in a letter that he had acted at the suggestion of a former supervisor who has since been indicted on other charges.
