Tallahassee, FL-- A miracle from the heavens made Tallahassee history today.
The 6 pounds, 3 ounces baby girl--Ka'lani, name meaning the heavens, was the first baby born on the New Year's day at Capital Regional Medical Center.
"Just grateful to have her," said mother, Shadarica Harris.
According to the Hospital, the mother and baby are healthy, which makes it a blessed day for the family.
"The baby's healthy, so we could not be happier for her and we are all glad that they both have all this special attention," said Registered Nurse, Celeste Tyrna.
The expecting mother did not know baby Ka'lani would have city-wide recognition. She did not think she would be born on such a special day.
"We were debating last night, If she would be born on New Years or News Years Eve--It just so happens she came at 12:15," said Harris.
