Tallahassee, FL - The 21st Annual Black Tie Scholarship Gala was held Friday at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

Proceeds go toward scholarships for Florida students.

The gala was a part of the Foundation's annual legislative summit. Workshops over the past three days address issues such as expanding Medicaid, in-state-tuition for undocumented students, and funding for critical infrastructure projects.

Rep. Alan Williams is the Chairperson. He says discussions also included, "making sure that jobs are created through our businesses that are doing business with the state of Florida, and making sure they're not left out of the process. So, all in all, we think that this week was a success. If for no other reason, we got folks starting to talk to each and not against each other."

Florida's Black State Legislators will be honored at the Mayor's Brunch Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the University Center Club.
