LIVE OAK, Fla. -- A.P "Buddy" Nott died at age 95. He was elected mayor of Live Oak in 1986 and remained mayor for 16 years.
The community remembered him at the Nott Circle Roundabout, with wreaths and flowers.
"You can't replace a gentleman like himself," said Keith Mixon, City Councilman, District 5, who also served under Nott. "You can't replace those pioneers, you can't replace those folks who lead the city and did things that...You just can't find that. You don't just grow that. That's an individual we were blessed to have. He'll be sorely missed."
Services for Mr. Nott are to be held Tuesday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
