The Sheraton in downtown Tallahassee has gone green.
The Four Points is now a certified green building under the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program.
The mayor of Tallahassee recognized the hotel for its efforts to improve the environment.
The hotel's general manager says that the investment in going green is more than worth it.
"It's about the triple bottom line. Doing the right thing financially but also for the community and for the environment. We're committed to that and it does take a financial investment but it will pay off. It's already starting to pay off", says Bo Schmitz.
Some of the changes made to the building include: solar panels to reduce electricity use, battery powered vehicles to transport guests and low flow shower heads.
