The Quincy Police Department has joined forces with the Big Bend Pop Warner to provide a “free” football skills camp for area children. The skills camp is the dream of Officer Mike Wallace who is also the Football Commissioner and Training Director for the Tallahassee based National Youth Football Program.
Along with Officer Wallace, former FSU and NFL standout Corey Simone, President of Big Bend Pop Warner and a team of local business leaders and Quincy Police Officers have volunteered their time to instruct and mentor the young athletes.The goal of this skills camp is to not only increase football skills but to promote a sense of responsibility to the community and scholastic fitness.
The Skills Camp will be held Friday July 6th from 8am-1pm. Registration will be held from 8 am to 9 am. Skills and drills will begin at 10am. The Skills Camp will be held on the football practice field located on the corner of Pat Thomas Parkway and Laura Street.
