Tallahassee, Florida- July 13, 2012
Friday the 13th turned out to be a lucky day for some homeless animals.
This Friday the 13th, to get more foot traffic through the shelter, the Tallahassee-Leon Community Animal Service Center hosted the 'black is back' event where all adoption fees for black animals were waived.
Says Erika Leckington, the Tallahassee Animal Shelter Director: "On Friday the 13th people have a lot of superstitions and sometimes people overlook the black animals at the shelter, those are often times the animals people don't adopt readily."
But not today... The parking lot was pretty full at the shelter and at last check about 20 animals were adopted today.
If you didn't get a chance to head over today...The shelter is open from 10-5 on Saturday, July 14, and on Sunday, from 1-5.
