Fugitive Wanted For Murder Arrested In Tallahassee

Tallahassee, FL – The US Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force (FRFTF) announced today the arrest of Demonta Price, 18 years of age from Albany, Georgia for First Degree Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and Violation of Parole on an original conviction of Armed Robbery. Price was being sought by authorities in Albany, GA after investigators determined that Price and his two brothers, 23 year old Demetrice Price and 20 year old Kovarious Price were involved in the brutal murder and robbery of Jamey Spurlock. Albany Police Department investigators relayed that 35 year old Jamey Spurlock was changing a tire on Silica Road on the night of December 22, 2013 when Price and his two brothers confronted Spurlock. Spurlock was shot and killed during the robbery leaving behind 3 children and his fiancé. Both Demetrice and Kovarious Price are currently in custody in Albany, GA charged with Murder and Robbery. Demonta Price was named one of Albany’s Most Wanted and members of the US Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) had been searching for Price since January 6, 2014.

On Friday, March 7 SERFTF investigators contacted the US Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force (FRFTF) for assistance after information was received that Demonta Price was possibly hiding out with relatives in the Tallahassee, FL area. Today at approximately 3:00PM FRFTF members tracked Price to the Rodeway Inn Hotel, 2702 N. Monroe Street, Tallahassee, FL late and located Price hiding out with a female acquaintance from Georgia. Price was arrested without incident and transported to the Tallahassee Police Department at the request of Albany, GA authorities. US Marshal Ed Spooner stated that the quick response from the US Marshals Task Force along with the outstanding cooperation from Task Force members with the Tallahassee Police Department and the Leon County Sheriff’s Office were all key in the removal of these dangerous fugitive from the streets of Tallahassee.

The Tallahassee Division of the FRFTF is comprised of state and local law enforcement officers from the Florida Department of Corrections Inspector General, Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Leon County State Attorney’s Office, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Perry Police Department, Tallahassee Police Department, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office and the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office.

A fugitive wanted for murder has just been arrested in Tallahassee.

U.S. Marshals say they found Demonta Price with his girlfriend in room 216 at the Rodeway Inn on North Monroe Street just before 4 this afternoon.

18-year-old Demonta Price is one of Albany Georgia's most wanted. He's been on the run since December 22nd.

Price and his two brothers are accused of robbing and killing a man who was stopped on the side of the road to change a flat tire.

Brothers Demetrice and Kovarious Price are already in jail in Albany, Georgia.

The three are accused in the murder of 35-year-old Jamie Spurlock, a father of three.
